Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an OR Charge Nurse for the full-time second shift. The role leads the Surgery unit, coordinating daily activities and ensuring smooth patient flow with Preop/PACU. As a licensed RN, you will apply nursing processes to care for each patient.

Requires ADN, Kentucky RN license, ACLS within 6 months, BLS within 90 days, and at least 1 year of relevant experience; Crisis Prevention within 6 months is also expected.

Qualifications

• ADN in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Crisis Prevention certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of the Surgery unit as Charge Nurse.
• Collaborate with Preop/PACU to optimize patient flow.
• Implement the nursing process for assigned patients.

Full-Time Second Shift

The Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the Surgery unit. The Charge Nurse works closely with the Preop/PACU to ensure patient flow efficiencies. Also, as a Registered Nurse, implements the nursing process for each patient assigned to his/her care.

Requirements:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• A minimum of one year of relevant job-related experience is required.
• Must obtain Crisis Prevention within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent experience in specialty preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience and CNOR.
