Job summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse - Operating Room for a Full-Time Second Shift. The Charge Nurse will coordinate the daily activities of the Surgery unit and work closely with Preop/PACU to ensure patient flow efficiencies, while implementing the nursing process for every patient in care.

Required ADN, Kentucky RN licensure, ACLS within 6 months, BLS within 90 days, and at least 1 year of related experience. Crisis Prevention training within 6 months is also needed.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN degree from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted RN licensure in Kentucky required.
• ACLS cert required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS cert required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
• Must obtain Crisis Prevention within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of the Surgery unit and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Collaborate with Preop/PACU to optimize patient throughput and throughput efficiency.
• As a Registered Nurse, apply the nursing process to each patient under your care.

The Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the Surgery unit. The Charge Nurse works closely with the Preop/PACU to ensure patient flow efficiencies. Also, as a Registered Nurse, implements the nursing process for each patient assigned to his/her care.

Requirements:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• A minimum of one year of relevant job-related experience is required.
• Must obtain Crisis Prevention within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent experience in specialty preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience and CNOR.
