Job summary

Lovelace Women's Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Day shift, full-time Medical Surgical Charge Registered Nurse. The role oversees nursing practice for an assigned unit, ensuring efficient patient flow and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications include an associate or diploma in nursing (bachelor's preferred), active NM license or compact license, CPR/BLS, and 1+ year of Charge Nurse experience. Sign-on bonus up to $16,000 and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Must have an active NM nursing license or NM compact license within 90 days of hire.
• One year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting or more than one year of clinical/management experience.
• CPR certification and BLS required upon hire.
• Minimum education: Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for professional nursing practice in the assigned area.
• Manages patient flow and appropriate use of supplies.
• Collaborates with unit managers/directors to develop and revise policies and procedures.
• Acts as departmental liaison and first point of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Ensures compliance with policies and patient safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in his/her charge.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational functions.
• Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Minimum: Associate's Degree or Diploma of Nursing
• One (1) year of Charge Nurse experience in hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience.
• CPR
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Desired: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Certification in clinical specialty
