Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM is hiring a Day Shift, full-time Medical-Surgical Charge Registered Nurse to join our team. Responsibilities include managing nursing practice for the unit, coordinating patient flow, and serving as liaison with patients, providers and staff while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

Requirements: Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing, NM nursing license (or compact within 90 days), CPR, BLS within 14 days of hire, and at least one year of Charge

• NM Nursing license or NM compact license within 90 days.
• CPR and BLS certification required within specified period.
• One year Charge Nurse or similar experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in his/her charge.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational functions.
• Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing
• One (1) year of Charge Nurse experience in hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience.
• CPR
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)
