Job summary

Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Day shift, full-time Emergency Room Charge Registered Nurse to lead nursing colleagues, oversee patient flow, and ensure high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or Diploma of Nursing
• One year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting or more than one year of clinical/management experience
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license

Responsibilities

• Charge RN responsible and accountable for nursing practice and patient/staff management in assigned area
• Manages efficient patient flow and appropriate use of supplies
• Collaborates with unit managers/directors to develop and revise unit policies and protocols
• Acts as departmental liaison and first contact with patients, providers and staff
• Adheres to policies to ensure compliance and patient safety

• Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services.

Responsibilities

• The Charge RN is responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in his/her charge.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational functions.
• Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate's degree or Diploma of Nursing
• One (1) year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire);

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• National Certification in clinical specialty care
