Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 3A Orthopedic and Neuro Surgery unit, full-time day shift (3 x 12 hr). The role involves applying nursing processes, leading and teaching peers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, plan-of-care initiation, and effective communication with the healthcare team. Requires current Maryland RN license, AD Nursing, CPR/BLS, and unit-specific certifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or compact state.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment.
• CPR certification.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning of patients.
• Implements the plan of care and documents nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Communicates with the health care team concisely and timely.
• Initiates individualized care plans using nursing diagnoses.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and department standards.
