Henry Ford Health is seeking a full-time, benefit-eligible RN for the 7 North unit at Henry Ford St John Hospital in Detroit. The shift pattern is three 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with rotating weekends and observed holidays.
The unit handles orthopedic and neurosurgery patients in a fast-paced, team-based environment. The role requires current Michigan RN licensure and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day Shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Qualifications
BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
Henry Ford St John Hospital's 7 North unit is a 33-bed unit consisting of orthopedic & neurosurgery patients. Our unit is fast paced: we handle postoperative care for approximately 3-12 surgeries on a daily basis. We also take overflow med/surg patients, and some telemetry patients. The team typically consists of 7-8 RNs and 3 PCTs daily. Day shift RNs typically have a patient ratio of 3-4 patients to 1; night shift RNs typicaly have a patient ratio of 4-6 patients per nurse.
