Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse to oversee nursing care, coordinate shifts, and guide a team of RNs in a high‑performing unit. You will lead patient education efforts and ensure safe, efficient care delivery throughout the shift.

You will collaborate with physicians and staff to maintain standards of practice, document care accurately, and mentor junior nurses while supporting the unit during transitions and patient movement.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Academic bachelor''s or master''s degree in nursing.
• 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and documents plan of care based on initial assessment and ongoing reassessment.
• Develops and communicates a plan of care with patient/family to address identified needs.
• Recognizes changing patient conditions and escalates using RRT as needed.
• Performs patient rounds and promptly addresses concerns.
• Maintains a safe environment and responds to emergencies with confidence.
• Documents assessments and plans of care clearly and accurately.
• Documents narcotics appropriately and securely.
• Educates patients and families using written materials and verbal instruction.
• Delegates and coordinates nursing care, balancing workload among licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Administers medications and blood products per the 7 Rights of medication and documents care.
• Coordinates discharge planning and referrals with the multidisciplinary team.
