Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) in Oncology to coordinate and supervise nursing staff across day shifts. This role emphasizes leadership, patient and family teaching, and collaboration with physicians and ancillary staff to maintain high standards of nursing care.

The ideal candidate will have RN licensure in Texas (or a compact state), 1 year of RN experience, and certification requirements with BLS/ACLS encouraged.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Academic bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Texas or a compact state; active CPR/BLS as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, support and supervise other RNs on the unit.
• Ensure the nursing unit runs smoothly across shifts; oversee shift transitions.
• Participate in patient and family teaching and maintain professional nursing standards.
• Serve as a liaison between physicians, nurses and staff and provide leadership to the care team.
