Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team. The RN assesses patient health problems, educates patients, develops and implements care plans, and offers emotional support to patients and families.

The RN will organize patient care on the unit, lead as charge nurse, coordinate staffing, and ensure adherence to LSBN delegation rules while maintaining high-quality care and patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing is required.
• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or compact state license as RN.
• BLS-CPR certification required.
• 2 years of bedside nursing care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Organizes patient care and unit activities with delegation of these tasks to other staff as appropriate.
• Facilitates effective and efficient patient flow, coordinating admissions to the unit/department.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in planning and organizing patient care.
• Communicates effectively with Director to maintain efficient patient flow and monitor staff performance.
• Acts as designated charge nurse on the unit on a daily basis.
• Leads unit in the absence of the Director and ensures high-quality patient care.
