Chapter Specialist: Teen Programs & Event Leader

Job summary

BBYO in the Bay Area is seeking a Chapter Specialist to empower teens (grades 8-12) through engaging programming, chapter coaching, and event planning, with 8-12 hours weekly. In-person role in the San Jose area; evenings and weekends required including Saturday evenings 6-10pm.

Compensation is $20-22/hour. You will collaborate with chapters, attract and retain members, manage attendance data, and contribute fresh ideas to the community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 3 years removed from high school.
• Role has in-person responsibilities. Candidate must live within or near San Jose.
• Hours per week flexible, minimum 5 hours.
• Creative, responsible self-starter who collaborates with teens.
• BBYO or similar youth/Jewish organization preferred but not required.
• Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• Must have transportation to events.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without visa or sponsorship.
• Ability to perform duties with/without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with teens to create engaging, fun programming.
• Coach teens on running their chapters.
• Attend chapter events and meetings.
• Assist in building chapter calendars.
• Create high-quality programs with teens.
• Keep chapters informed on movement initiatives.
• Help attract and retain members and grow chapters.
• Oversee attendance data and event registration forms.
• Collaborate with colleagues to bring new ideas to the community.
• Facilitate communication among chapters and with parents/community.
