Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a dedicated officer/minister to lead chapel services and provide compassionate counseling within the ministry. Responsibilities include preparing bulletins, coordinating programs, and guiding seekers through church programs.

Qualifications

• Salvation Army officer or minister with some counseling experience.
• High school Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to pass a background / motor vehicle records check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Chapel services as requested by the Administrator on Wednesday night, Sunday morning and other special occasions.
• Prepare Sunday and Wednesday Chapel bulletin.
• Arrange programs and assignments for participants of Chapel services.
• Arrange to counsel all seekers who go to the altar at chapel services.
• Be available for counsel and prayer at all times, and especially after Wednesday and Sunday services.
• Coordinate and conduct bible study on scheduled night.
• Interview all incoming clients. Acquaint them with the religious programs of The Salvation Army.
• Work with the Program Department in relationship to the spiritual needs of beneficiaries.
• Maintain confidentiality as needed and required for the operation of the total program.

PAY RATE: $18.54 per hour

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly on the telephone.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks

• Overtime. Any and all overtime must have the written approval of the supervisor, Administrator or his/her designee. Authorizing initials must appear on the timecard beside the overtime hours.
