Job summary

Hinds LifeCare invites a Per Diem Chaplain to join our team, reporting to the RN Clinical Manager. Provide spiritual care to patients and families in alignment with beliefs and the hospice philosophy; participate in interdisciplinary care planning and support activities.

Weekend availability is required, with a focus on compassionate end-of-life support and bereavement considerations. Qualifications include seminary education, ordination or endorsement, and CPE or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited seminary or school of theology.
• Ordination or endorsement from a faith community.
• Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent training and/or experience.
• Bachelor's degree from a related specialty; Masters degree preferred.
• 1–3 years prior experience with patients/families dealing with life threatening illness and death desirable.
• Understanding of the interdisciplinary team dynamics with staff and community.
• Must have a valid drivers license and willingness to use personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual services to patients and families in keeping with belief systems and hospice philosophy.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support care plans.
• Availability to work weekends.
