Job summary

Vertex is offering a 6-month paid co-op in Boston focused on change management within a regulated quality environment. You will gain hands-on experience in QMS, lifecycle management, and operational excellence while supporting AI-enabled content guidance and template development.

This role is best suited for students pursuing degrees in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related fields. The program runs January through July 2027, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in quality systems, regulated processes, and operational improvement.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across functional teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with process improvement and lean principles is a plus.
• Interest in AI tools and content standardization.
• Experience with structured data, templates, or documentation systems.
• Exposure to QMS, lifecycle management, or change control concepts.
• U.S. work authorization; no sponsorship for internships/co-ops.
• Enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before May 2027.
• Available for full-time, 40 hours/week January–July 2027.

Responsibilities

• Transmission and Tracking of Active Change Controls.
• Template Generation with AI for change control docs.
• Support an Operational Excellence initiative to streamline change control processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure templates align with Vertex SOPs and compliance.
• Develop and refine master AI guidelines for drafting content in line with quality standards.
