Vanguard’s Advance to Financial Planning Advisor Program builds the next generation of financial advisors through real-world client exposure and structured development. You'll gain hands-on experience in a client-facing role, with mentorship from Advice professionals and senior management, plus a clear path into a Financial Advisor position.

The program includes CFP-related development, and completion of SIE and Series 7/63 within the timeframe.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required; GPA 3.2+ preferred.
• CFP Board undergrad/grad program or pursuing designation preferred.
• SIE exam completed before start date, required.
• Series 7 and 63 to be passed within policy timeframe.
• Demonstrated leadership in academics, work, or community settings.
• Strong commitment to helping clients with their portfolios and Vanguard’s mission.
• Support Vanguard’s values of integrity, focus, and stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on exposure in a client-facing service role.
• Receive mentorship from Vanguard Advice professionals and senior management.
• Dedicated advisor development time focused on personal financial planning steps.
• Achieve CFP experience requirement within two years via Apprenticeship pathway.
• After 18–24 months, transition to a Mass Affluent Financial Advisor role within a team.
