VISPO, the Vermont nonprofit broadband provider, is seeking a collaborative Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy and hands-on operations for a 31-town broadband district. The role blends strategic planning with day-to-day accounting, grants, and regulatory compliance to ensure sustainability and growth.

The CFO will work with the Board and C-Suite to build financial models, manage budgets, and guide network investments while mentoring staff and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business with concentration/minor in Accounting.
• 10+ years' progressive financial leadership experience.
• Experience in telecommunications, broadband, utilities, infrastructure, or similarly complex environments.
• Demonstrated success in startup/scale-up/nonprofit/cooperative organizations.
• Strong accounting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
• Experience building systems, processes, and teams in growing organizations.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Maintain budgeting, forecasting, accounting oversight, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with vendors and staff to ensure accurate financial operations and regulatory filings.
• Monitor cash flow, reserves, debt, and funding opportunities.
• Improve financial processes, controls, and scalable systems.
• Support month-end/year-end close, audits, and compliance.
