Job summary

VISPO, the Vermont ISP operating company, seeks a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to guide financial strategy for a community-focused broadband district. Based in South Royalton, VT, this onsite role reports to the Board and works with C-Suite leadership to ensure sustainable funding, grant compliance, and responsible financial operations.

The CFO will mentor finance staff, optimize budgeting and reporting, and partner with operations on capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business with accounting focus.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Experience in nonprofit, cooperative, or mission-driven organizations.
• Strong accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with vendors and staff on financial operations and filings.
• Monitor cash flow, reserves, debt, and funding opportunities.
• Lead audits, controls improvements, and month/year-end tasks.
• Partner with CEO/Board on financial strategy.
