Job summary

VISPO is seeking a collaborative, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to serve as both strategic leader and active contributor within our growing nonprofit broadband district.

The ideal candidate will balance board-level finance strategy with day-to-day accounting, budgeting, audits, grants reporting, and process improvements, while mentoring staff and building scalable financial systems that sustain community service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business with a concentration/minor in Accounting.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Experience in telecommunications, broadband, utilities, infrastructure, technology, or similarly complex environments.
• Experience with grants and related reporting, public funding, infrastructure financing, or capital-intensive operations.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting, forecasting, accounting oversight and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with partners/vendors and internal staff on financial operations and regulatory filings.
• Monitor cash flow, reserves, debt, and funding opportunities; support month-end and audits.
• Develop financial models and reports for leadership and the Board.
• Partner with operations/engineering to align financial planning with network build-out.
