Job summary

Grand Canyon University in Phoenix is seeking a student worker to support the Lab Director and Lab Coordinators in daily operations, safety, and shop procedures. You will assist with setup, upkeep, inventory, and supervision of student activities in the Engineering Labs and Capstone area.

This role is open to full-time students enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a willingness to work nights and Saturdays, and a commitment to safety and learning equipment use.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program.
• Maintain a minimum GPA: 2.0 for Bachelor's level, 3.0 for Master's level.
• Maintain good financial and academic standing with the University.
• You may be subject to termination if you fall below minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lab Director and Lab Coordinators with setup.
• Assist with upkeep and supply monitoring.
• Ensure you follow all safety guidelines and instructions.
• Monitor the Engineering Labs and Capstone area for student safety.
• Learn and teach how to use equipment in the shops.
• Maintain inventory in Labs.
• Complete tasks as assigned by the lab coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Monitor the Engineering Labs and Capstone area assuring that students follow all safety guidelines and instructions.
• Learn and teach how to use equipment in the shops.
• Maintain an inventory Labs.
• Completing tasks as assigned by the lab coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to set and follow a schedule.
• Must be able to Nights and Saturdays when needed.
• Must be able to comply with safety protocols (training will be provided).
• Knowledge of Solidworks preferred
