YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a dedicated Swim Lesson Instructor to lead and motivate participants, ensuring safe, engaging swimming lessons aligned with YMCA standards. The role emphasizes developing water safety, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records while collaborating with aquatics leadership.

The position requires proficiency in multiple strokes, adherence to policies, and effective communication with parents.

Qualifications

• Must obtain YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification in accordance with YMCA standards, policies and procedures.
• Current/or must obtain prior to first scheduled shift: ASHI certifications for CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen, etc.

Responsibilities

• Knows and understands all emergency procedures and responds to emergencies.
• Maintains all required certifications.
• Conducts swim lessons as assigned.
• Develops swimming and water safety skills adjusting for participants.
• Provides constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Maintains attendance and progress records.
• Performs equipment checks and prepares equipment before class.
