Ascension St. Vincent Orthopedic Hospital in Newburgh, IN is seeking a Surgical Tech to join the Ortho Surgery team. This full-time, day-shift position supports the operating room by preparing sterile instruments, passing tools to the surgeon, and assisting with patient positioning and transport.

Required NBSTSA or NCCT credentialing prior to hire, plus BLS within 30 days (or an instructor with BLS). Education can be HS with experience or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of relevant

Competenze

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or an instructor specializing in BLS within 30 days of hire.

Mansioni

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes, instruments, and supplies.
• Hand instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with patient preparation, transport, positioning, and draping.
• Maintain instrument organization and track counts throughout procedures.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • One or more of the following:
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
