Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. You will help prepare skin, maintain aseptic technique, transport patients, and set up the OR with instruments and supplies.

Under supervision of a nurse, you will scrub multiple specialty areas, maintain sterile fields, and ensure safety through proper traffic control and infection prevention. This is a PRN, per diem as needed role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.
• BLS required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients.
• Maintains aseptic technique and sterile field during procedures.
• Transports patients to and from the OR and positions them for surgery.
• Prepares the OR by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies.
• Demonstrates competency with surgical supplies and equipment.
• Adheres to Universal Barrier Precautions and facility policies.
