Qualifications

• Technical School diploma in Surgical Technology or PN required.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0–2 years OR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room by ensuring instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready based on procedure and physician preference.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout the procedure, adhering to asepsis and sterile technique.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments and supplies efficiently during procedures.
• Handles instruments and equipment per policy, including inspection, cleaning, and sterilization.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse for patient safety.
• Assists with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction to ensure safety and readiness.
• Maintains physician preference cards and procedural documentation accuracy.
• Restocks supplies, cleans and returns equipment to storage, and prepares rooms for next cases.
