Job summary

Dupont Hospital, LLC is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join the operating room team. You will prepare and maintain the sterile field, anticipate team needs, and ensure safe handling of instruments and supplies.

Role requires CST certification, 0–2 years OR experience, and graduation from a surgical technology or practical nursing program. You will support OR efficiency and infection control, with responsibilities for counts, positioning, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of operating room surgical technician experience.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist certification is required.
• Graduation from a Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with instruments, equipment, and supplies per procedure and physician preference.
• Maintains a sterile field using Universal Precautions, asepsis, and sterile technique.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments and supplies quickly and accurately.
• Handles instruments and equipment per manufacturer instructions and hospital policy, including cleaning and sterilization.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse for patient safety.
• Assists with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction for safety and readiness.
• Maintains physician preference cards and procedural documentation for accuracy.
• Restocks supplies, cleans and returns equipment, and prepares rooms for subsequent cases.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
