Tennova Medical Group - Greater Knoxville at Middlebrook Surgery Center in Knoxville, TN seeks a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. The role prepares sterile fields, anticipates needs, maintains instrument handling, and assists with positioning and documentation.

Requires CST and BLS, 0–2 years OR experience, and technical school or associates degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.

Formación

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program or an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required; BLS - Basic Life Support required.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares the operating room by ensuring instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for procedures.
• Maintains a sterile field and aseptic technique throughout surgery.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and passes instruments efficiently.
• Handles instruments per policy, including inspection, cleaning, and sterilization.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse to support patient safety.
• Assists with patient positioning, draping, and transfer as directed by RN.
• Maintains documentation and procedural recordings; supports OR efficiency.
