Job summary

The Surgical Technician – Certified at Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center collaborates with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient patient care in the operating room. You will help maintain the sterile field, anticipate team needs, and manage instruments and supplies to support high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include setting up the OR per procedure, sustaining sterility, assisting with counts of sponges and instruments, and aiding with patient positioning under RN direction.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate in Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required or
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required
• BLS - Basic Life Support required

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with instruments, equipment, and supplies per procedure and physician card.
• Maintains a sterile field and uses aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Anticipates surgeon needs, passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handles instruments per manufacturer directions and hospital policy, including sterilization.
