Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program in surgical technology.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
• Certification in surgical technology through AST accreditation (or NCCT acknowledgment for hires before July 1, 2006).

Responsibilities

• Performs supply, equipment, environmental related tasks and quality checks; reports issues and may monitor case carts.
• Scrub duties with knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation and procedures.
• Ensure aseptic technique and correct counting of sharps and instruments in the operative area.
• Assist with patient flow activities and communicate with the RN.
• Prioritize tasks and adapt to changes in the operating room.
