Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a qualified surgical technologist to provide high-quality professional care under the supervision of the Surgery Leader and/or Surgeon within the OR and related clinical areas.

Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, maintaining sterile environments, rotating through SPD for instrument cleaning, updating preference cards, and verifying patient identity and procedure. Strong adherence to aseptic technique and safety standards is required.

Qualifications

• Must have successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Must obtain CST or TS-C certification upon hire.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon within scope of competency and standards.
• Wash, sterilize equipment, and maintain sterile OR environment.
• Rotate in SPD area for instrument cleaning and sterilization.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, and consent.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout the intraoperative period.
