Job summary

Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the operative team before, during and after surgery. You will ensure instrumentation and supplies are ready and maintain strict asepsis to protect patient safety.

Duties include scrub and circulating roles, infection control and assisting in training new staff under supervision. Current Surgical Technologist certification and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technologist program is required.
• Three years operating room experience preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist operative staff before, during and after surgery.
• Prepare instrumentation and supplies for procedures.
• Perform scrub and circulating duties in the operating room.
• Maintain asepsis and infection control throughout care.
• Train newly assigned personnel under supervision.
