Job summary

Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist - CVOR to assist surgeons in cardiovascular procedures. The role focuses on instrument handling, maintaining sterile field, and patient care across age groups.

Requirements include an accredited surgical technology program, national certification, and BLS. Experience in CVOR and open heart procedures is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent training.
• Must have national certification prior to hire and maintain it.
• Current basic life support certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterility of the operative environment and enforce protocol.
• Observe universal protocol and surgical technologist standards of care.
• Care for patients from neonate to geriatric.

Education

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Surgical Technologist - CVOR functions under the supervision of the unit Clinical Nurse Coordinator and performs tasks assisting surgeons in the preparation and handling of instruments, scopes, supplies and equipment during interventional operative cases, specifically cardiovascular. Your responsibilities will include:

• Is responsible for maintaining sterility of the operative environment and holding others accountable to the same

• Observes all universal protocol requirements and surgical technologist standards of care

• Cares for patients from neonate to geriatric

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program

• Graduation an accredited school of surgical technology, or completion of a training program for surgical technologists administered by the US Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard required

• Must have obtained certification from a nationally recognized certification board prior to hire, and will maintain certification without lapse throughout duration of employment

• Current basic life support certification

• 1-year experience in an acute care operating room setting is required

• 1-year experience in CVOR is required

• 1-year open heart experience is required

• Vein Harvesting experience is required
