Job description

Join us to apply for the Certified Surgical Technologist role at UPMC.

ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is hiring a Full-Time Surgical Technologist for our Operating Room at the McCandless location. Salary will be based on education and experience.

We offer a generous sign-on bonus for full-time Surgical Technologists, depending on your years of experience:

• 0-1 years: $10,000 for 2-year commitment, $12,000 for 3-year commitment
• 1-2 years: $12,000 for 2-year, $17,000 for 3-year
• 2+ years: $15,000 for 2-year, $25,000 for 3-year

Responsibilities include:

• Labeling medications and handing them to surgeons
• Preparing the operating room and assembling equipment
• Checking equipment functionality
• Passing instruments during surgery
• Assisting with specimen handling and dressing application
• Helping with patient preparation and transfer
• Cleaning and restocking the OR

Minimum qualifications:

• Completion of a recognized surgical technology program
• Certification or eligibility within 6 months
• CPR/BLS certification

Additional requirements include compliance with state laws and continuing education for non-certified staff.
