Qualifications

Surgical techs are an integral part of a hospital's healthcare team, acting as a surgeon's right hand. They prepare surgical equipment and assist surgeons and surgical teams before, during, and after procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, maintaining detailed reports, and providing non-judgmental, individualized care to all patients, families, and staff.

To apply as a surgical technologist with Nomad, you must have an active certification from the NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA, or an active first assistant certification, along with at least one year of experience as a General surgical tech or first assistant, including within your specialty/modality within the past three years. If not certified, a minimum of 10 years of surgical tech experience is required, subject to facility acceptance. You must have graduated from an accredited program and score 80% or higher on all Nomad competency exams.
