St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a skilled surgical technologist to support the operating room team at our Bucks County location. The role involves sterile setup, instrument handling, and assisting the surgeon throughout procedures.

Flexibility to float to Grand View Surgery Center in Harleysville is available. Requirements include NJ or PA certification upon hire (new grads may complete within six months) and on-the-job training totaling about 1.5 years with an orientation

Competenze

• Certification required upon hire in NJ and PA, with the option for a new graduate to obtain within six months
• On-the-job training minimum 1.5 years, with 8 weeks orientation

Mansioni

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves self and members of the surgical team
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure and ensures they are in good working condition
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed
• Assists with draping sterile field
• Passes instruments, retractors and suture etc., to surgeon during procedure
• Demonstrates ability to anticipate need of the surgical team
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure
• Handles surgical specimens appropriately and safely
• Handles sharps and mediations following OR safety policies
