Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Certified Scrub Technician to support surgical teams across our facilities. This role handles instruments, supplies, and equipment essential during procedures. NJ/PA certifications are required at hire, and on-the-job training of 1–1.5 years is provided.

Qualifications

• Certification required upon hire in NJ or PA.
• New graduate requires certificate within six months of hiring date.
• NJ/PA certification options accepted by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves self and members of the surgical team.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure and ensures they are in good working condition.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.
• Assists with draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments, retractors and suture etc., to surgeon during procedure.
• Demonstrates ability to anticipate need of the surgical team.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure.
• Handles surgical specimens appropriately and safely.
• Handles sharps and medications following OR safety policies.
