Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will assist with instrument setup, sterile technique, counts, and passing instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Responsibilities include checking supplies, scrubbing, gowning, gloving, preparing sterile fields, and handling specimens and meds while maintaining OR safety and sterile technique throughout the procedure.

Qualifications

• Certification required upon hire (PA) unless new graduate.
• New graduate must obtain certificate within six months of hiring date.
• Acceptable certifications include NCCT (1 year renewal) or NBSTSA (2 year renewal).

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for self and surgical team.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to operation and before incision.
• Assists with draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments and sutures to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique.
• Handles surgical specimens, sharps, and medications following OR safety policies.
