Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician at St. Vincent Medical Center to support operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and maintaining field sterility.

This role emphasizes collaboration with the surgical team, adherence to safety standards, and ongoing education to keep pace with evolving practices while supporting Mercy Health's mission to deliver compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Certified through NBSTSA or NCCT (required).
• CPR (required). Must be certified within 6 months from date of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (required).
• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Work requires knowledge of basic sciences and sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assists with care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.
• Maintains open communication with the surgical team to ensure a collaborative environment.
• Assists in training and orientation of students and new staff members.
• Complies with hospital policies to ensure quality, efficiency and safety.
