Job summary

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The role focuses on planning and anticipating the surgeon’s needs, maintaining the sterile field, and supplying instruments and supplies to the sterile field in a safe, efficient manner.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma or equivalent; a surgical technologist program is preferred, with potential substitution by relevant hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program or substitute with 1 year hospital surgical tech experience (pre-9/1/2009).
• No prior experience required unless substituting education.

Responsibilities

• Plan equipment and supplies for procedures per physician preference.
• Prepare sterile equipment and maintain sterile field during surgery.
• Assist surgeon by supplying sterile instruments and supplies.
• Prepare medications and solutions under RN direction.
• Maintain accountability for instruments and sharps throughout procedures.
