Ascension's Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for our CVOR team. You will support pediatric cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures, prepare sterile and non-sterile instrument sets, and assist the surgeon during delicate operations.

This full-time, day-shift role offers a 4x10 schedule (6:30am-5:00pm) with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Minimum requirements include BLS and CST credentials (NCCT or NBSTSA), a high school diploma or

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• CVOR-specific CST credential preferred (NCCT or NBSTSA).
• High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe, efficient execution of complex pediatric cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures in a high-acuity CVOR environment.
• Prepare and calibrate specialized pediatric cardiovascular and neurosurgical suites with sterile and non-sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide direct surgical assistance by anticipating surgeon needs, handing instrumentation, and aiding in hemostasis during delicate pediatric operations.
• Assist in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping pediatric patients while adhering to strict age-specific safety protocols.
• Organize instruments and perform continuous counts to uphold patient safety.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Organize instruments systematically and perform continuous, precise counts of supplies and instruments throughout procedures to uphold patient safety.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• 2+ years CST CVOR experience
• Monday - Friday | 4x10 hour shift | 6:30am-5:00pm
