Job summary

Jefferson Health seeks a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to join the intraoperative team at Albert Einstein Medical Center’s East Norriton location. You will support the creation and maintenance of the sterile field and anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative care.

This role requires completion of a surgical technician program, BLS, and CST/TS-C certifications, with emphasis on teamwork, patient-focused care, and precepting other team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; graduate of a surgical technician program.
• Knowledge of working with diverse patient populations and effective communication.
• Understanding of surgical assistance techniques and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the patients and family in providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care.
• Inspects Operating Room for cleanliness and prepares OR equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Assists with gowning and gloving of the surgical team and maintains sterile field integrity.
• Counts sharps, sponges, and instruments and ensures proper counts; prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Maintains supplies and equipment; acts as primary preceptor to other surgical team members as needed.
