Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Sunnyvale, part of Tenet Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to assist during operative procedures. You will maintain a sterile field, manage instrument counts, and support the surgical team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include Surgical Technologist certification, AHA BLS, and at least 1 year of OR scrub experience. English communication is required; additional languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent program.
• AHA BLS Certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of OR scrub tech experience.
• Proficient English communication; additional languages desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a sterile field per sterile technique principles.
• Perform sponge, sharp and instrument counts and correct discrepancies.
• Select instruments, supplies, and equipment based on procedure.
• Anticipate surgeon needs by passing instruments and retracting as needed.
• Ensure proper assembly of instruments and equipment for patient care.
• Communicate with physician and assistant; relay pertinent information promptly.
• Identify/label cultures and specimens accurately.
• Maintain instrument/equipment and report malfunctions.
