Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Mary-Corwin in Pueblo, CO seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist the surgical team and maintain a sterile, organized OR environment for safe procedures. You will arrange and inventory sterile instruments, pass items to surgeons and nurses, and help prepare patients and rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current DORA registration as a surgical technologist for associates in Colorado.
• NBSTSA certification or NCCT tech in surgery certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
• Performs counts with circulator before and after incision as needed.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand for surgeon needs using preference cards.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments and medications for procedures.
• Provides on-call coverage outside scheduled hours per policy.
• Anticipates problems and prepares for emergent cases to adjust workflow.
