Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support the Surgery Department at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. Under the supervision of surgeons and RNs, you will organize and maintain a sterile operating room, pass instruments, and assist in preparing patients and rooms between cases.

Requirements include current surgical technology certification, attention to detail, and ability to stay calm in a fast-paced team. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Current surgical technology certification.
• Strong attention to detail and sterile technique.
• Ability to stay calm and communicate effectively in a fast-paced surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile technique during procedures and check integrity of packages.
• Perform instrument counts with circulator before incision and as needed.
• Prepare back table and mayo stand based on surgeon's preferences.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications.
• Provide on-call coverage outside standard hours per policy.
• Anticipate problems and prepare for emergent cases that alter workflow.
