Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist for full-time, day shift in West Columbia, SC. The role involves assisting with invasive and minimally invasive procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the surgical team under RN and physician supervision. Expected duties include instrument handling, room setup, and post-procedure cleanup.

The position requires NBSTSA certification, CPR, and completion of an OR technician program. Work hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum Years of Experience: None.
• Required Certifications/Licensure: National Certification through NBSTSA. CPR Certification.
• Required Training: Completion of a recognized vocational or hospital based Operating Room Technician course or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned patient care tasks under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and surgeon.
• Prepares operating room and supplies, maintaining sterile technique and instrument counts.
• Assists in positioning the patient, draping, and exposure management during procedures.
• Passes instruments, sponges, and sutures to the surgeon and circulator as needed.
• Maintains inventory, documents equipment checks, and ensures environment meets infection control standards.
• Performs duties as CST robotic first assist when applicable and supports standard postoperative cleanup.
