Job summary

Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC is hiring a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. Under RN supervision, you will facilitate sterile technique and assist surgeons during invasive and minimally invasive procedures.

You will ensure instrument passes, prepare the OR, and maintain patient safety. Candidates should have NBSTSA certification and CPR, along with graduation from an OR technician program; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• No required years of experience
• No substitutions allowed for education or experience
• NBSTSA certification required; CPR certification also required
• Completion of an OR technician program or equivalent training

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care tasks under RN supervision and assists the surgeon during procedures
• Prepares operating room and ensures sterile setup for procedures
• Passes instruments, sponges and sutures to the surgeon
• Maintains sterile technique and infection control throughout procedures
• Keeps track of counts and assists with equipment and supplies
• Assists with patient positioning and recovery readiness as directed by the surgeon
