Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a surgical technologist to support cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, and vascular procedures. You will work under the nurse and surgeon to ensure sterile conditions, proper equipment function, and patient safety throughout invasive surgeries.

The role requires a high school education, NBSTSA certification, CPR, and OR technician training. Day shift, full-time, with a 0600–1430 schedule and a $30,000 sign-on bonus. Columbia, SC area.

Qualifications

• CPR certification for direct patient care givers.
• National Certification through NBSTSA. Other certifications acceptable per HR policy.
• Completion of a recognized Operating Room Technician course or equivalent.
• Yearly Safety Training and infection control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assists in positioning the patient on the operating table and prepares the operative site.
• Selects and arranges instruments, equipment, and supplies for each procedure.
• Demonstrates competency in emergency medical equipment use.
• Maintains sterile technique and organizes sterile field for procedures.
• Assists circulating nurse and anesthesia personnel during surgery as needed.
• Participates in counts and documentation related to sterility and instrument tracking.
