Job summary

Lexington Health in Columbia, SC is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the OR team on a day shift. The role requires NBSTSA certification, CPR certification, and a High School Diploma or equivalent, with supervision by registered nurses and physicians to ensure safety and efficiency during invasive procedures.

You will prepare the OR, maintain sterile technique, assist the surgeon, manage supplies, and participate in instrument counts and post-procedure responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• National NBSTSA Certification required.
• CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned patient care tasks under supervision of a Registered Nurse and surgeon.
• Assists in preparing the operating room and maintains sterile technique.
• Passes instruments, sponges and sutures to the surgeon during procedures.
• Restocks supplies and ensures accurate instrument counts with the team.
• Disposes of contaminated materials following infection control policies.
• Positions patient and assists in preparing operative site and draping as needed.
• Assists in robotic first assist role when applicable and supports team during procedures.
