Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Claremore, OK is seeking a day shift, full-time Certified Surgical First Assistant to join our operating room team. The CSFA will work closely with the surgeon and circulating nurse to provide optimal visualization, tissue retraction, hemostasis, and suturing across procedures.

Candidates should have NBSTSA CSFA certification, BLS, and a Surgical Tech background; high school diploma; and be prepared to obtain BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Tech program
• Certification by the NBSTSA as a CSFA.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon by providing visualization of the surgical site through retraction of tissue and sponging, and assist with hemostasis and suturing.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and work closely with the circulating nurse.
• Terminally clean the operating room after each procedure and restock supplies.
• Under the direction of a registered nurse, carry out all scrub duties as outlined in the department procedure manual.
• Create and maintain a sterile field and provide instruments to the surgeon.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician preferred
• Typing and computer skills preferred.
