Responsibilities

• Surgical First Assistants assist physicians in surgery and may perform specific surgical tasks under professional supervision.
• Tasks include opening/closing sites, exposing the surgical area, harvesting grafts, dissecting tissue, removing tissue, implanting devices, and tissue modification.
• Perform the CST role when not utilized in the First Assistant Role.

• Surgical First Assistants assist physicians in surgery and may perform specific surgical tasks under professional supervision.
• Significant surgical tasks include but are not limited to opening and closing surgical sites, exposure of the surgical site, harvesting grafts, dissecting tissue, removing tissue, implanting devices, and altering tissues.
• Perform the CST role when not utilized in the First Assistant Role.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Previous CST experience (prefer two years).
• P re vious CSFA experience (prefer minimum 2 years exp).
• Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program .
• Current CS FA certification .
