Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System in Ohio is seeking a Certified Equip Process Technician to sterilize and prepare instruments for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will assemble trays, monitor equipment, and ensure sterility using multiple sterilization methods.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, be certified or eligible in Sterile Processing, and possess strong English communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and patients in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified in Sterile Processing and Distribution or obtain within two years.
• Knowledgeable of medical terminology.
• Demonstrate interest and ability to learn required psychomotor skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills including: listening, talking, patience, judgment, initiative, and ability to relate with others.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and follow instruction manuals written in English.

Responsibilities

• Assembles components of trays used within area of responsibility.
• Keeps equipment coordinator informed of problems with equipment and instruments.
• Uses steam, Sterrad and Steris sterilization processes.
• Maintains event related sterility according to procedure.
• Understands decontamination and sterilization processes of instruments and equipment.
• Demonstrates understanding of instruments and instrument trays used daily and their maintenance.
• Uses Impress Instrument Tracking System in each area.
