Job summary

SpecialtyCare seeks a Sterile Processing Technician in Ohio to join a dedicated team that decontaminates, cleans, processes, and sterilizes supplies for surgical use. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CRCST registration, and completion of SPD certification within six months of hire; prior sterile processing experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have aseptic technique knowledge and infection control requirements.
• Experience with sterilization techniques and equipment is required.
• Basic knowledge of medical/surgical procedures and terminology.
• CRCST certification is required or will be pursued.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies and equipment according to infection control practices.
• Assemble instrument trays and packs following protocol content lists.
• Load autoclaves and monitor time/temperature per item type.
• Maintain documentation records before and after sterilization.
• Ensure proper stocking and distribution of sterilized items.
